• Marketplace data — listing details, photos, prices, and messages exchanged with other users through the marketplace messaging feature.
• Photos and images — images you upload for business listings, marketplace items, or your profile avatar.
• Contact form submissions — your name, email, and message content when you use the contact form.
• Usage data — anonymized analytics data such as page views and general usage patterns collected through Google Analytics.

How We Use Your Information

• Account management — to create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and enable features like business claiming and marketplace listings.
• Community directory — to display business listings, reviews, and ratings to help the community find local Muslim-owned and halal businesses.
• Distance calculations— your zip code is used to calculate approximate distances to businesses, so you can find what's nearby. This is done using a static lookup — we do not track your live location.
• Marketplace — to facilitate buying, selling, messaging between users, favorites, and offer management.
• Email notifications — to send you transactional emails such as submission approvals, claim updates, and marketplace messages when you are offline.
• Site improvement — anonymized analytics help us understand how the site is used so we can make it better.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform. Your data may be processed by these providers in accordance with their own privacy policies:

• Supabase — database hosting, user authentication, and real-time messaging.
• Google OAuth & Apple Sign In — optional sign-in methods. We receive your name, email, and profile photo from these providers when you choose to sign in with them.
• Cloudinary — image hosting, optimization, and delivery for business photos, marketplace images, and avatars.
• Google Analytics — anonymized website usage analytics to understand traffic and usage patterns.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (sent from noreply@lvmuslims.net).
• Vercel — website hosting and deployment.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Your data is only shared with the third-party service providers listed above, solely for the purpose of operating this platform. Business listings and reviews are publicly visible by design, as the purpose of the directory is to help the community discover local businesses.

Cookies

We use cookies for authentication purposes. When you sign in, Supabase sets session cookies to keep you logged in. Google Analytics may also set cookies to track anonymized usage data. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking across other websites.
